Tomatoes bridge all different cultures and add fun and excitingly great taste to any dish they are added too.
With a fascinating history, you'd never figure that the tomato is actually part of the nightshade family, where a few poisonous cousins exist. Interestingly, the lineage of the tomato is also connected to that of tobacco, eggplants, chili peppers, and the potato. A lot of our favorite ethnic recipes would not exist if there were no tomatoes. Overall, I find tomatoes a versatile vegetable, which shapes the many reasons why I celebrate their existence.
1) A Happy-Looking Vegetable
Tomatoes are colorful and not only come in the bright red variety, but also decorate dishes with orange, green, pink, purple, yellow, and even white selections. Some are multi-colored, while others display funky stripes. Tomatoes when added to a dish cause flavors to burst forth as well as helping change a sad countenance.
2) Important Salad Ingredient
A salad isn't complete without tomatoes, as there are many different selections to consider. A big plate piled high with sliced tomatoes is a welcome addition to any meal. It's also a snap to get ready. Add cubed cheese to this side dish and you have a filling, speedy lunch for on the go.
3) Hamburger Helper
Sprinkle a little salt on sliced tomatoes and you have a refreshing treat. A juicy hamburger with all the fixings isn't the same without a couple of slices, adding zip and matching perfectly with lettuce.
4) Please Pass the Ketchup!
Grilling on a hot summer Sunday afternoon just would not be the same if the tomato wasn't there to spice things up. Pass the ketchup and watch it be slathered on the burgers, hot dogs, french fries and other fun foods?
5) Good Stuff for the Body
Red foods are known to supply the body with lycopene

Black Tea Wheels your Whole Day Cheerfully
To have a cup of tea early morning really keeps 100% and us fresh active. It is the tea that is consumed the most all over the world. Black tea is the cup that cheers the most and hence it delivers the most. There are chemicals in black tea that are equally beneficial to health. Lots of research has been done on black teas, the results of which are increasingly pointing towards the health benefits of teas, which we refer to as the black tea or green tea to name a few.
Black tea contains a compound called theaflavin-3-monogallate (TF-2). It is one of anti-cancer compounds family called polyphonols. TF-2 fights against colon cancer cells. It leads cancer cells to "commit suicide" in droves. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Prevent Cancer. Black tea also contains antioxidants to neutralize harmful effects of natural chemical processes. A research result published in Journal of American Heart Association in 2001 found effect of black tea. It found black tea might strength ability of endothelial cells lining blood vessels. It helps regulate flow of blood. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Protect Against Heart Disease. Black tea contains fluorin element. Fluoride Ion combines with calcium in the tooth and become Ne apatite. It adheres to the teeth to defend acid. Read more in Black Tea Benefit - Fights Cavities.
Black tea wheels your whole day cheerfully it will wheel your mind and body too towards more and more good health. Black tea has also been shown to be an effective preventer of lung cancer. Black tea appears to cause apoptosis of abnormal lung cells. Apoptosis is the orderly process of cell death. Cell death due to apoptosis is good, because it is a process of killing off damaged or unneeded cells. Black tea seems to help the body rid itself of potentially harmful lung cells by inducing the process of apoptosis. Black tea also seems to help prevent lung cancer by inhibiting the growth of the abnormal lung cells. So, black tea keeps the cells from growing and spreading until the apoptosis can kills the cells off. These two powers help to rid the body of abnormal cells before they can replicate and cause a problem.

Sweet Music to Our Ears - When PEZ Went Hi-Tech
Who doesn't love PEZ? The cute little dispensers with the interchangeable heads that flip back to give us our sweets on demand are a hit with kids and collectors, alike. What could be more low-tech than a design that's been around since the 1950's? What could be more low-tech than a plastic rectangular tube topped with a colorful plastic head? My personal favorite is a Yoda I got back in middle school about 20 years ago. There is nothing absolutely whatsoever hi-tech about PEZ. But, as they say, all good things come to those who wait. It took a clever guy with a creative streak and an idea whose time had come to take PEZ into the realm of gadgetry.
Once upon a time, the makers of Altoids candies held a contest. They asked people to come up with original ideas to recycle their candy tins after the candy was gone. The winner was the individual who stuffed the iPod speaker inside the empty Altoid tin. Great, you say, but this is supposed to be about PEZ going hi-tech. What does Altoids and Ipods got to do with anything? Everything, as you'll see in a moment.
In Missouri, a stay-at-home dad and gadget designer Patrick Misterovich followed that contest and saw that iPod Altoid tin. As a clever and creative guy, he became inspired to see what else could be done with empty candy containers. He had a vision, a creative bent and a little bit of luck, as all good inventors are want to possess. "I saw that (Altoid iPod speaker) and I thought, that's pretty neat, taking something that you wouldn't think of as electronics and turning it into a device," Misterovich said. "When I started thinking about how I could do that, the Pez idea came to me, and I figured it was something that was pretty cool that could appeal to a lot of people."
Patrick didn't start with the idea of a PEZ mp3 player right out of the gate, though. He made a list of possible candy-tach combinations. How about a LifeSaver laser pointer? Or a USB drive in a gum pack? And then, he saw it - PEZ on the candy side of the list and mp3 player on the gadget side. Like two lost soul mates on opposite sides of the stream, they simply needed Patrick to bridge the gap between them. Patrick didn't just sit there staring at the two of them. He took action. In less than 5 minutes, He had emailed the PEZ company. He was going to need permission to license his product using their product. He got the number of the PEZ candy company and called. Now, I don't know who you call at a candy company when you want to do something completely un-candy-like with their product, or how you go about presenting the idea, but somehow Patrick either knew or figured it out along the way. He's a clever guy, you know? After about two hours, he had licensing permission from the PEZ people to run with his "crazy" idea, and that's exactly what he did.
That weekend, he spent a few bucks on a Google ad and ran a test market to see if anyone would want to even buy the thing. The response was a bit overwhelming. Everyone from teens to toy collectors were apparent PEZ fanatics who would, indeed, buy a PEZ mp3 player if he would make and sell one.
Patrick's PEZ mp3 player had the capacity to hold 512 MB of music and the ability to switch out its rather generic looking head with any other PEZ dispenser head. Yay! Yoda could hold my tunes! It seems the only complaint critics had when the device hit the market was that it DIDN'T have the capability to hold actual PEZ candies. Oh well, not every invention is perfect, I suppose.
Patrick made some press announcements to introduce his PEZ mp3 player to a hi-tech hungry world. He started a website and was soon the topic of every candy, gadget, business and music blog in cyberspace. In the Spring of 2005, Patrick was king of the cool kids' table!
His company, Lincoln West Studio, sold the PEZ mp3 players for $99. His first production of 1500 units sold out rather quickly. PEZ granted permission for a second production run. That's when the trouble started, apparently. Because his device was electronic, it had to pass certification by the Underwriters' Laboratories to ensure compliance with safety standards. Once again, Patrick contacted the right folks and in no time, had the UL certification and the symbol to match. He once again issued statements to the press and the blogosphere that everything was a go on the PEZ pop tune provider. The next run of PEZ mp3 players would be due out in the Spring of 2007. And that's the last anyone has heard of him.
There's been no word from Patrick since. His website is defunct, his domain up for sale. Did big business put the little guy out of business? Did the dad working form his basement give up on his dream? Or did he just move on to something else? The world may never know. The few PEZ mp3 players available online are for the serious collector with serious money.
Once upon a time, a man had a dream and a PEZ dispenser was, for a short time, more than a candy dispenser. Gives a new meaning to the phrase `"sweet music`" doesn't it?

Breast Augmentation Complications
Breast enhancement is being increasingly used today. Once thought only to be something that celebrities or rich people had done, breast augmentation is now frequent among all strata's of the general population. Whilst the finished surgical results typically work really well, improving the patient's perceived outlook and lives, what must be remembered are the small but not irrelevant associated potential risks. This is after all surgery, a highly invasive procedure that requires the careful consultation and application of experts.
Breast enhancement surgery can lead to a whole host of complications, two of which are mentioned below:
Necrosis:
This is where injury and/ or disease kills off groups of cells around the implant in the weeks after surgery. Such an occurrence makes the healing of the wound surrounding the implant difficult. In the worst cases the implant may have to be removed to enable the affected area to be effectively cleaned and then healed.
Necrosis of breast tissue can be more likely if the patient:
smokes
already has an infection
uses steroids
undergoes heat or cold therapy
undergoes radiation/ chemotherapy
What can be left from a case of necrosis is large permanent scarring. Surgeons can apply silver nitrate (or other similar anti-infection chemical) to a recent scar that appears to be re-opening soon after implants surgery. The cessation of smoking is highly recommended prior to breast surgery, in particular when having a breast lift. Breast lifts need a larger quantity of incisions which can increase the chances of less than adequate oxygen supply to regions of the breast, further promoting the chance of necrosis.
Capsular contracture:
Any object inserted in a living human will be surrounded by a protective tissue lining frequently termed a 'tissue capsule', 'scar capsule', or simply a 'capsule'. This lining is not identical to the regular scar tissue.
Capsular contracture is the most widely seen of the breast enhancement complications, although possible at any time it is most frequent in the first few months after surgery.
Breast enhancement surgery involves the cutting of tissue to create the hole for the implant to fit into. Once the implants are in this so called 'pocket' a very fibrous tissue develops, i.e. the capsule. Scar tissue is genetically programmed to shrink to a certain degree. In some people the scar tissue will not shrink noticeably, in others shrinking places pressure on the implants making them seem quite tough and rigid.
Under pressure the breasts can become physically distorted, later becoming firm and ball-like. What can increase the risk of capsular contracture are:
Patients that smoke
Past cases of seroma
Past incidences of haematomas can aggravate the capsule, i.e. inflammation, leading to the capsule contracting
Implants placed on top of the musculature generally have more of a chance than implants inserted below the muscles of capsular contracture
Pathogens present on unclean implants can lead to rapid contracture
A grading system is used to mark the degree of capsular contraction:
Baker Grade 1: The breast looks natural and feels soft
Baker Grade 2: The breast looks natural but is a little bit firm
Baker Grade 3: The breast looks slightly distorted and is firm
Baker Grade 4: The breast looks distorted and feels hard. A certain level of pain may be present.
When thinking about having surgical breast enhancement do really think about whether you need the operation. Consult your local qualified surgery and know the potential risks!

The Truth About Plastic Surgery And Anti-Aging
For many people, plastic surgery is a way to turn back the clock when it comes to their aging skin. Often this is a result of not paying enough attention or knowing how to care for their skin and body while they were younger.
Of course, the best medicine is preventative medicine, which recommends that a healthy diet, lots of water, moderate exercise, and a good organic skin care regimen all started at a young age.
However, not everybody was able, or knew to, do this when they were younger. Of these people, many turn to plastic surgery to correct their mistakes and anti age their faces.
In years gone by, plastic surgery consisted of one treatment or surgery at a time, meaning that women (and men) who needed to have several different things done to their face in order to achieve the look of youth that was desired had to undergo a number of surgeries and recuperation periods. This meant time off from work for many, making it take a long time to get to where they wanted to be where their looks were concerned.
Today, anti aging through plastic surgery does not necessarily mean multiple times under the blade. There are many surgeries that can be combined, so that one time of operation can result in many things being achieved at once. This is a great help to those who want several things done. Not only does it mean much less time off from work and less total recuperation time, but it means less expense because you only have to pay for anesthesia and other necessities one time, rather than once for each different procedure to be done.
One such combination is a combination laser resurfacing and face lift. Side effects are minimal when these two treatments are done in the same treatment and the procedures are well known for combating the effects of sun damage combined with the natural aging process. Both sun damage (also called photo aging) and the natural aging process often result in excessive skin and loose jowls, giving the appearance of a sagging face. The process which counters these effects in one treatment is actually the non invasive treatment, ablative laser surgery. Side effects of this treatment are very similar to the side effects of treatment by laser, which are minimal when compared to side effects from invasive surgery. The one side effect that may bother people and happens in about one in five cases is a discoloration that lasts for as long as four months.
Another plus for the combination is that heavy anesthesia is not required; a twilight anesthesia can be used through intravenous means. Again, this reduces the risk to patients. The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery has long recommended that patients not have multiple surgeries while under any anesthesia because of the health risk it poses so this treatment is getting rave reviews from the association because of its light anesthesia and short amount of time that patients need to be under the anesthesia.
The CO2 laser which is used for this procedure can be used in other ways, too. By utilizing this form of anti aging treatment, skin looks toned and smooth, creating a younger looking face. It is entirely possible for wrinkles and discoloration due to sun exposure to be removed without using this laser. Many people who have face lifts prefer to have the laser used on them intermittently to counteract aging processes between face lifts. This form of anti-aging seems to be getting a foothold throughout the world of plastic surgery.
If you are seriously considering any form of plastic surgery, you should always research the surgery you are interested in and find a derma logical surgeon (plastic surgeon) with considerable experience in the field. Keep in mind that not all of these surgeons are knowledgeable and experienced with CO2 lasers and careful consideration should be taken when deciding on the surgeon you choose.
One of the best ways to find a good surgeon is to talk to people who have had the procedure done. Find out how they liked the results, if there were any problems that required additional treatments and how comfortable they were with the surgeon. Also, ask if they will go back to that surgeon if they decide to have further treatments. You will find that some people prefer not to discuss it while others are more than willing to talk about it with you. Plastic surgery is so common today that most people don't mind answering your questions.

How To Disguise The Signs of Aging
Wrinkles, everybody gets them, everybody hates them. In fact, wrinkles are viewed with disdain by so many people that a billion dollar a year industry has sprung up around getting rid of them or at least slowing down their appearance for a while. People all around the globe are trying everything from herbs to plastic surgery in an attempt to slow down this sign of aging, especially those who show wrinkling prematurely.
One way to combat the appearance of wrinkles is to use specialized beauty treatments. These lotions generally have collagen mixed in. The collagen is then absorbed into the skin over a period of time. Collagen is a naturally occurring substance in the skin that functions as a 'skin plumper'. Collagen production is reduced as we grow older, which results in wrinkles because of the loss of elasticity in the skin. These treatments can be done at home on a daily basis, but can also be done in spas. An afternoon in a day spa can help you feel pampered and relaxed, which definitely helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Plastic surgery is often used as a way to combat the arrival of wrinkles. While this is a very invasive way to accomplish the goal, it is often successful. With plastic surgery, it is so important to research the procedure and the surgeon very carefully. This is a major surgery and should not be taken lightly. While there have been many wonderful results, there has also been some disasters with plastic surgery.
Basically, when a face-lift is performed, the skin of the face is literally lifted off, pulled up and stitched back into place. The end result is tighter skin with no wrinkles. This procedure is not permanent and signs of aging can and probably will occur again in the future. Since there has been so much in the media regarding doctors who are performing this surgery without being properly licensed and the number of people who complain of botched face-lifts, please do extensive background research before letting them perform it on you. Double check the credentials of the surgeon.
Botox and restylane injections are two other popular ways to rebel against the aging process. These types of procedures have gained in popularity, mostly because they are quick and if done by a licensed professional, are safe. You do want to be sure you carefully check to make sure that the practitioner is, in fact, properly licensed and experienced.
Botox is a protein that has been purified from Clostridium botulinum. The fact that Botox is a form of Botulinum is the reason that it is so important for this procedure to be done by an experienced practitioner. Do not be pulled in by someone who says that they can give you Botox or collagen injections for a fraction of the cost of a doctor. These are scams and all too often use either substandard or completely fake injection materials. It is best to be safe and use a doctor with a good history using these methods. It will be worth the extra cost.
The best way to prevent wrinkles and, therefore, the need to fill them in, is with proper diet and exercise. Keeping in shape and eating a healthy diet that includes the proper vitamins and water intake is the best way to keep your skin healthy for years to come. If you find that you are not getting the proper vitamins and nutrients, ask your health care provider about supplements.
Starting with a healthy diet that includes plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and lean meats, you will have a good head start on keeping hour the elasticity of your skin last longer. It will also benefit your general health, so it is very much worth the time and effort to follow a well-balanced diet.
While vitamin supplements are widely available over the counter, the decision as to which is best for you can be a bit overwhelming. Your doctor will be able to ask you questions about your diet and exercise regimen and recommend the right supplements for you.
There are other changes that you can make to your daily schedule, right now, that will have an effect on the appearance of wrinkles. For example, if you smoke, you will notice the appearance of wrinkles around your mouth. While quitting smoking may not be easy, it is a step that will not only make your face look younger, but your whole body as well.
Sunscreen is another thing that will help keep your face wrinkle free for longer. The use of a sunscreen that is at least a 15 SPF will prevent sun damage, cancer and wrinkles. If this habit is formed when a person is young, the sunscreen will help to greatly reduce the early onset of aging signs. This doesn't mean, however, that starting later in life will have no impact, the opposite is actually true. Cosmetic manufacturers know this to be true, as well and many have included SPF 15 sunscreen in their make-up, from foundations to eye shadows.
Drinking at least 32 ounces of water daily will help your skin stay hydrated and supple. Hydrated skin does not wrinkle as quickly or as severely as skin that has not been taken care of. If you have trouble fitting the full 32 ounces of clear water into your daily routine or find that you simply don't like plain water, try mixing in some lemon or a low calorie flavored drink mix. Besides helping to keep your face free of wrinkles, water is essential to keep your body hydrated and healthy.
By combining healthy eating habits, water, sunscreen and the correct vitamin regimen, you can greatly reduce wrinkles and the procedures that are then needed to correct them. This will also benefit your general health. Please remember before starting any exercise or vitamin plan to speak with your doctor or health care provider.

How To Survive Facial Cosmetic Surgery - With Makeups
When it comes to creating a certain level of comfort after undergoing plastic surgery, you should know that the way you feel and how you look are two different things. Although you may feel physically in perfect condition, your face may tell a different story. Visually, the effects of plastic surgery may include swelling, unsightly bruising and visible incisions. These signs also have the potential to last for months.
Today, there are numerous ways to deal with these minor setbacks that does not take time away from completing daily tasks and responsibilities. The market is filled with a wide range of cosmetic items and techniques that can camouflage the side effects associated with plastic surgery. Camouflage cosmetics are versatile, boosting the confidence levels in male and female patients of all ages.
Camouflage cosmetics not only bring out your recent enhancements, but also mask the healing process of a surgical procedure. While there are many different products to choose from, an array of application techniques are available to help you take advantage of these cosmetic items. It may take a bit of practice, but in no time, you will get the hang of concealing the unattractive side of recovery.
After-Surgery Safety
Before turning to camouflage cosmetics to hide bruising or reduce the appearance of swelling, you should consult your surgeon on when is the best time to start using these items. Often, it is common to begin applying camouflage cosmetics a couple of days after surgery. In the case of covering up incision lines, you will need to wait until all of the stitches have been taken out, which is usually two weeks after surgery. Complete closure of the incision is also a must before using camouflage cosmetics.
If you have undergone a procedure on the nose, camouflaging may begin right after cast removal. For chemical peel or dermabrasion patients, the skin must be free of blemishes or crust before using camouflage cosmetics.
Purchasing Camouflage Cosmetics
When shopping for camouflage cosmetics, you may find these special makeup products located in many large department stores. In certain cases, some of the usual cosmetics you use may help to cover up signs of surgery. To track down some of the best products, your plastic surgeon may suggest a few options beyond the commercial world of camouflage. If you decide against the suggestions of your doctor, it is important to purchase camouflage cosmetics that are hypoallergenic, as well as fragrance free. This will protect you against skin irritation.
Basic Types of Camouflage Cosmetics
There are three main ways patients approach the purchase of camouflage cosmetics: concealing, correcting and contouring. Below you will find brief details on each technique to better help you decide which approach is best for you:
Concealing: Concealers differ from typical foundation products because they are much thicker. Using concealing techniques usually works wonders in hiding incision lines and unattractive bruises. All over the body and face, visible scarring is also reduced. Various concealer colors are available on the market, offering a variety of skin matches to consider. When applying concealer, you should know that this type of product does not enhance the appearance of the thin, delicate skin located about the eyes.
Correcting: Color correcting is a great way to create a balance between skin that appears yellowish or reddened. The need for this sort of product comes when healing bruises bring about a yellow tint to the skin. The redness of a chemical peel and dermabrasion is also treated with a color corrector. Different tints of product are available. Yellow tones are neutralized with a lavender corrector. A green corrector affects redness.
Contouring: Contouring provides nice results for those who wish to reduce the appearance of swelling or bring about the imagery of highlights and shadows. Facial implant and nose surgery patients will benefit from contouring techniques. By manipulating light and shadows, you can make lighter areas come forward or darker areas fall into the background. This is accomplished through the combination of a highlighter and contour shadow.
As a rule of thumb, the highlighter should be close to two shades lighter than your usual foundation. The contour shadow should be around two shades darker than the foundation you are accustomed to. When looking for these products in a grocery store, be on the lookout for foundation makeup and pressed power.
Contouring involves a great deal of skill to appear authentic. Through practice, the creation of illusions that take advantage of light and dark shades of product can be accomplished. Patients can then use these techniques to make noses appear narrower, shrink the appearance of a swollen chin and bring height to cheekbones.
Cosmetics Removal
Camouflage cosmetics should not stay on the face when you go to bed. Removal of the product is very necessary to ensure healthy skin. Camouflage cosmetics are known for being thicker than usual makeup options. This means strong cleansing cream should be used for removal, followed by an alcohol-free toner that is gentle to the skin. Last, a skin-specific moisturizer should be applied for extra care.

How Often Should You Look After Your Nails and How to Prevent the Most Common Nail Problems
There are quite a few different problems which can occur with our nails. Uncared for nails can easily become brittle, split and white spots can often appear.
It can be hard knowing how often you should care for your nails and what you should do. However, with a little time and effort you will notice that looking after your nails really does not have to be overly hard.
How Often You Should Look After Your Nails:
As a general rule, your nails should be looked after every single day. Simple hygiene such as using a nail brush and mild soap and water daily is not really a chore and it only takes a few minutes of your time. On top of that there are also other things you can do weekly including:
Removing any old nail polish by moistening a cotton ball with nail polish remover. Press the cotton to the nail for just a few seconds to soften the polish and prevent any rubbing of the nail. In one firm movement move the cotton from the base of the nail, right up to the tip and then repeat until the polish has all come off.
Next shape the nail by using an emery board. It is better to file the nails from the corner to the centre, though you should not file the actual corner itself. It is important to not run the file up and down the nail as this can cause ridges and other potential problems with the nail.
The next step is to soak the hands in warm water for up to a few minutes, in order to remove any built up dirt and bits of nail from the filing that was just done. Use an orangewood stick to clean under the nail.
Many people like to push their cuticles back but generally it is better to leave the cuticle where it is. If you are unsure as to where the cuticle in the nail is, it is basically the skin which grows from the finger onto the base of the nail. Not pushing the cuticle back helps to prevent infections.
Although you can buy different top coats and basecoats, it is thought that a clear nail polish does exactly the same job and so it is cheaper to just apply clear nail polish first. Next choose whichever color you want for your nails and apply. Leave them to dry and then apply another layer of clear nail polish as a topcoat to seal the color in and to prevent chipping.
It is recommended that you visit a professional manicurist every six weeks in order to keep your nails extra healthy. Some good tips for caring for your nails include not using nail polish remover more than once a week. Nail polish remover can cause the nails to dry out and crack and split. Also, after washing your hands always apply lotion or moisturizer to the nails in order to keep them well lubricated and protected.
White spots often occur on the nails and they are generally nothing to worry about. Whilst they can indicate a problem with nutrition, most white spots are caused by rough manicures and too much force applied to the nail. In this case they should grow out on their own and you should make a note to yourself to be extra careful with your nails in future
Also ridges are another common problem which are usually caused by too much pressure on the nail. Some ridges are also down to hereditary factors and these can only be con trolled by smoothing them down using a buffer. If the ridges have only just occurred they can be a symptom of anemia and so it is always better to consult your doctor.
Overall, looking after your nails need not be a chore. It does not take long to scrub under the nails with soapy water using a nail brush, and having a manicure once every six weeks can actually be quite fun. So, look after your nails daily and you should not have many problems!

More Nail Tips
.Shaping Your Fingernails
Polished nails and healthy cuticles aren't the only things that make your fingernails beautiful. Keeping your nails trimmed and shaped properly helps to create a glamorous look to your hands. Every hand is different, but there are few common shapes and sizes to hands that can help you to determine how you should shape your nails. The way your cuticle is shaped will also help
* For cuticles that are oval at the base, square shaped nails are appropriate
* For cuticles that are pointed, oval shaped nails might be better suited
* For small hands and fingers, try almond shaped nails
* Short and plump fingers look best with squared-off, oval nails
* Thicker hands or fingers with a wide nail bed should have squared off ends.
* Longer nail beds look best with rounded nails.
It is recommended by experts that the free edge of your nails should only extend a few millimeters beyond the tip of your finger. To begin shaping your nails, start by trimming them with a quality clipper. If you use a clipper that is too hard to squeeze, you'll end up breaking your nails or making inaccurate cuts. Once you have trimmed your nails into the desired shape for your hand type, you can begin to file your nails for smooth edges. Here are some filing tips to keep in mind:
* Don't file your nails from side to side, it can weaken the stress points of the nail's free edge
* Gently file from the corner of your nail to the center in one direction
* To make sure both hands are the same length or shape, hold the same finger from each hand up to one another
* Metal files can split your nails. Use a soft, flat emery board.
Tips for Beautifully Polished Fingernails
Beautifully polished nails aren't just for hand models. Besides your face, your hands are another area that people first notice about you. Nail polish can help your hands look younger, smoother and even thinner. Polishing your nails may seem like a no-brainer, but here are some helpful tips you may not have been aware of before:
* If you are already wearing a polish or not, before you apply nail polish, always remove the excess oils from your nails with nail polish remover
* To avoid cotton ball fuzzies stuck to your nails, use a makeup sponge with polish remover
* To avoid yellowing nails after your polish is removed, try buffing the tops of your nails. This will also smooth out the roughness of your nails
* Always, always, always use a base coat! This also will help eliminate the discolorization of your nails
* Water-based nail enamels, hypoallergenic and unscented nail products are available if you have sensitive skin
* Choose a shade that enhances your fingers and toes
* Instead of shaking your polish, roll the bottle in the palm of your hand, your nail polish will last longer
* Don't put too much polish on the brush
* When painting your nails, apply the polish to the tips of your nails and slightly underneath the tip of your nails
* Fast drying enamels are fabulous, but they also chip faster
* Nail polish takes a full hour to completely dry without smudging
* Once your nails have dried enough, usually 10 minutes, add a top coat
* To keep your nails looking glossy, apply a new coat every other day.

Top 5 quick tips for hair removal
Read on for a quick run-through of various hair-removal methods, and select the options that work best for you. Often, a combination of various methods is the best bet.
Waxing
Waxing is a very widely used method of hair removal here in India. It is very convenient as one needs just do it once a month or so. In addition, there are a number of women who readily come to your home, charge very nominally, and wax your body quickly and efficiently. The advantages of waxing are that as opposed to shaving or using a cream, hair grows back much slower. This is because the hair is removed from the roots.
However, if your skin is sensitive you may not be able to wax, as you may develop boils on certain areas of your skin. You may also develop in-growths when the hair grows out, leading to rough skin. But not everyone has these issues. If waxing works for your skin, it is an efficient, hassle-free method of hair removal.
Threading
Threading is best when used on smaller areas, and is often used to remove hair on the upper lip. It is also used to remove excessive hair around eyebrows, and define them. You can thread your upper lip yourself, but don't try and thread around eyebrows, as you may ruin the shape, causing one eye to look bigger than the other! You can also remove excessive forehead hair by threading. But if this causes pimples, don't do it.
Bleaching
The face is very sensitive, and if you have a lot of hair on your face, it makes sense to wax sideburns, thread upperlip and eyebrows, and bleach the rest of your face. Don't pull out hair from all over your face as you may develop a rash. Bleach it if your skin is light. Remember that bleach does contain chemicals, and is not necessarily gentle on your skin. Make sure you moisturise your face regularly, especially if you bleach, and reapply bleach only after a minimum of fifteen days have passed since your last application.
Laser
Laser is a great permanent solution to get rid of body hair. It is especially suited for areas where it is not easy to use other methods of hair removal. If you have a lot of hair on your back, and are not able to wax it because you develop boils, a good option would be to try using laser. You could of course choose to remove hair from all over your body with the help of laser, but it is expensive. But before ruling out this method, speak to a clinic that offers this services and find out about any packages they may be offering. You can even try a single session to dramatically reduce the hair from a certain area - but this will not work if you want every single hair removed. Laser is great for a hairy back or shoulders, and just a single session may reduce the hair dramatically. Any re-growth may not be as noticeable.
Hair removal creams
Hair removal creams contain harsh chemicals, and are often believed to cause darkening of the skin when used over a prolonged period. But these make good options when you want to expose a certain body part and need to remove hair gently. For example if you need to wear a lehenga at a wedding and your belly will be exposed, you can use a hair-removal cream as a one-off solution.
